Adapting to a Health Crisis Foreign to the Whole World

The Brief

The COVID-19 pandemic has created a crisis unprecedented in terms of scale and social, economic, and environmental implications. Many Organizations, especially healthcare institutions, were under unmatched pressure to act swiftly and save as many lives as possible with their limited resources in the wake of this crisis.

Further, healthcare providers were under immense pressure to educate the public about a virus they were unfamiliar with.

Overburdened health services weren't the only ones affected. Financial crises have swept most countries due to restrictive policies and halting economic activity.

Our Solution

Infocus Media knew it had to extend a digital helping armto front liners at such dire times. We matched the size of this crisis with a commitment to work 24/7 during lockdown with one aim in mind: helping Ministry Of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) in its efforts to raise awareness of the virus itself, ways of prevention, the importance of social distancing, and to help soothe public anxiety with the continuous rising of the infection rates.

Through its efforts in this campaign, InFocus placed itself as the digital facilitator that helped MOHAP communicate with the public to keep communities across the UAE informed during the breakout of the pandemic through its digestible, engaging, and relatable content and prompt response to the ministry's updates and demands.

Together with the MOHAP team, we managed and centralized the information shared about the pandemic and guided our followers through it safely.

The Result

In recognition of the success of the work done, MoHAP has been named the winner of two awards in the 8th edition of the Sharjah Government Communication Award (SGCA) 2021 in the 'Best Government Communication through New Media' category in the Arab world as well as the Best Practices for Dealing with the Coronavirus Crisis' category on a global level.
